Official Inspection Site
Owners of a prior salvage vehicle wishing to title and register the vehicle in the State of Illinois are required to have a Rebuilt Vehicle Inspection. This inspection is part of the process of bringing the vehicle out of a “Salvage” title position and obtaining a “Rebuilt” title. The inspection covers the main safety components of a vehicle such as suspension, brakes, safety restraints such as airbags and seats, lights, tires and more.
Trucks weighing over 8,000 lbs are required to have a safety inspection either every 6 months, or one year, depending on the registration classification. This inspection covers the main safety components of the vehicle including, suspension, brakes, lights, tires, body mounting and more.
